Bepanten Ointment for diaper rash and cracked nipples, 100 g, Bayer

Dry skin, scratches and abrasions, redness and irritation - these symptoms appear to each of us from time to time. When choosing drugs for their treatment, you can encounter problems: some drugs dry out even more, others fight inflammation, but are not suitable for long-term use.

Bepanten guarantees quick and safe elimination of all unpleasant manifestations. The drug is available in several dosage forms, and everyone can choose the ideal one for themselves.

How does Bepanten work?

Dexpanthenol, on the basis of which the drug works, is provitamin B5. This substance easily enters the skin, where it is transformed into pantothenic acid.

In turn, thanks to pantothenic acid, skin healing processes occur, cellular metabolism is normalized, and collagen fibers are strengthened. Due to these effects, the cream and other forms of the drug promote active hydration and regeneration of the skin.

Dexpanthenol is a substance related to skin cells, so Bepanten can be used on any area of the skin. In addition, the product can be used by children from birth.

New cosmetic line of drugs Bepanten Derma

With the onset of autumn and cold weather, our skin becomes especially vulnerable, since under external influences the skin's protective mechanisms are disrupted, excessive loss of moisture occurs and xerosis develops - a pathological condition of the skin in which it dries out, begins to become covered with scales, peels and cracks. This condition is often accompanied by a feeling of tightness, itching and redness. Xerosis (dry skin) is not only a cosmetic problem. With xerosis, the protective properties of the skin deteriorate, and the risk of developing various diseases, including dermatological ones, such as eczema, increases.

To restore protective mechanisms and improve skin condition for a long time, it is necessary to replenish the lack of lipids and natural factors. In autumn 2021, Bayer, with many years of experience in developing the highest quality skin care and treatment products, is launching a new cosmetic line, Bepanthen®Derma, for the natural restoration of dry and very dry skin on different parts of the body. Bepanten® Derma cosmetics are produced on the basis of provitamin B5, which penetrates into the deep layers of the skin and activates the processes of natural restoration of the skin's protective barrier.

The new line of Bepanten® Derma products takes into account the requirements for modern cosmetics for dry skin. Due to the content of provitamin B5, the products in the line intensively soften, soothe, moisturize and restore dry, sensitive and irritation-prone skin, and also ensure rapid transport of active components into the deep layers of the skin and maintain a sustainable restoration effect.

The lipid complex contained in Bepanten® Derma replenishes the supply of lipids in the stratum corneum of the epidermis, which helps retain moisture in the skin and maintain its protective functions. Also, a number of products in the cosmetic line contain components such as provitamin B5, urea, glycerin and allantoin, which restore, nourish and soften the skin, and prevent excessive keratinization.

The Bepanten® Derma cosmetic line includes preparations for both dry and very dry skin.

The line for dry skin includes: Bepanten® Derma Moisturizing Body Lotion (200ml) and Bepanten® Derma Hand Restoring Balm (50 ml). Products for very dry skin - Cream - Regenerating for feet (100 ml) Bepanten® Derma, Balm-Regenerating for lips 7.5 ml Bepanten® Derma and Nourishing body lotion (200 ml) Bepanten® Derma.

Bepanten® Derma Moisturizing body lotion, 200 ml Contains provitamin B5, vitamin E and physiological lipids in high concentration (26%), and also ensures their rapid transport into the deep layers of the skin thanks to the innovative Nanosorb® nanoemulsion technology. Thanks to this, Bepanten® Derma Moisturizing Body Lotion intensively soothes and moisturizes dry and sensitive skin prone to irritation and helps restore the protective skin barrier.

Bepanten® Derma Hand Regenerating Balm, 50 ml Contains provitamin B5 in high concentration (5%), which promotes deep hydration and triggers natural skin restoration processes. Intensively softens, nourishes and restores the skin of the hands.

Bepanten® Derma Lip Balm-Restorer, 7.5 ml Contains a combination of nutrients (provitamin B5, vitamin E and beeswax) that triggers the natural restoration of dry and cracked lip skin. Thanks to the balanced composition of components, Bepanten® Derma Lip Balm-Restorer intensively moisturizes, softens and restores very dry lip skin and provides protection from adverse environmental influences.

Bepanten® Derma Regenerating Cream for Legs, 100 ml Contains components with proven moisturizing activity - provitamin B5, urea (5%), physiological lipids, glycerin, as well as meadowfoam oil, squalene, allantoin, vitamin E. Thanks to this composition, Bepanten® Derma Foot Restorative Cream penetrates into the deep layers of the skin, intensively softens, moisturizes and nourishes it, promoting the natural restoration of the skin barrier. Bepanten Derma helps to achieve a lasting effect of softening very dry skin on the legs and protect the skin from excessive keratinization

Bepanten® Derma Nourishing body lotion, 200 ml Contains provitamin B5 and the active complex HYDROVITON* (composition of urea, allantoin, amino acids, lactate), providing intense nourishing, moisturizing and softening effects. High concentration of lipids (29%) helps maintain skin barrier function. Thanks to this, Bepanten® Derma Nourishing Body Lotion significantly increases the level of skin hydration and promotes the natural restoration of the skin barrier, even in cases of significant dryness of the skin.

Pharmacological properties of the drug Bepanten

The active substance of the drug Bepanten is dexpanthenol - provitamin B5. Its effect on the skin is similar to that of pantothenic acid (dexpanthenol is quickly transformed into this vitamin in epithelial cells), however, dexpanthenol is better absorbed when applied topically. Pantothenic acid is a component of coenzyme A, which in the form of acetyl-CoA plays a major role in cellular metabolism. Pantothenic acid is necessary for the formation and regeneration of the skin and mucous membranes. Bepanten ointment and cream are dosage forms that quickly penetrate the skin, so they are used to treat weeping wounds, unprotected areas of the skin (for example, facial skin) and areas of skin covered with hair. Dexpanthenol is quickly absorbed by the skin, immediately turning into pantothenic acid, and enters the reserve of endogenous pantothenic acid. When it enters the blood, pantothenic acid binds to blood plasma proteins (mainly albumins and β-globulins). In healthy adults, its concentration in whole blood is 500–1000 mg/l and 100 mg/l in blood serum. Without undergoing biotransformation, pantothenic acid is excreted unchanged in the urine (60–70%), the rest (30–40%) in feces.
