A dietary supplement to food, it is not a medicine. Keltican® complex helps restore damaged nerve fibers in diseases of the spine and peripheral nerves. Our body has a large number of nerve fibers that make up the so-called peripheral nervous system. When these nerves are damaged, for example, in the case of compression, pinching, or in metabolic disorders such as diabetes mellitus that last for many years, unpleasant and painful sensations may develop. Damage to the peripheral nervous system can occur in various conditions and diseases accompanied by unpleasant and painful sensations (for example, diseases of the spine, neuralgia). The human body is capable of independently restoring damaged nerve fibers due to reserve capabilities. Of course, recovery processes require a sufficient amount of time. However, in this case, the supply from outside of certain structural elements necessary for the restoration of nerve fibers can provide significant assistance. Keltican® complex contains the biogenic element uridine monophosphate, as well as vitamin B12 and folic acid, which stimulate the body’s own regenerative processes. Uridine monophosphate is of particular importance for accelerating the recovery of damaged nerves, and folic acid and vitamin B12 are important for maintaining neuronal metabolism. It has been clinically proven and documented that with peripheral nerve lesions, the need for pyrimidine nucleotides, such as uridine monophosphate, increases. Therefore, its entry into the body from the outside is of utmost importance during the processes of restoration and regeneration of nerves. As a result of its metabolism, the restoration of important components of the cell membranes of neurons is ensured, as well as the supply of a sufficient amount of enzymes to damaged neurons. Folic acid and vitamin B12 are important in maintaining neuronal metabolism (protein biosynthesis, myelination processes), as well as in preventing or reducing the severity of microangiopathies. Keltican: contraindications

Keltican is prohibited for use by children, pregnant and lactating women, as well as if there is an individual intolerance to any of the components of the drug. The ban on taking Keltican during pregnancy and breastfeeding is relative and is due to the lack of reliable clinical medical studies confirming the safety of the drug for the mother and fetus (child). The advisability of using dietary supplements during pregnancy is determined by the doctor. If it is necessary to prescribe Keltican during lactation, breastfeeding should be interrupted.

Keltikan: application

Capsules are taken orally regardless of food. The recommended dose is prescribed by the doctor, based on data on the nature of the disease and the degree of its severity. The standard dosage regimen for adults is 1-2 capsules twice a day or 1 capsule three times a day. The recommended duration of use is determined by the doctor, but usually it is 10–20 days. The drug is not used in pediatrics.

The mannitol contained in the composition can have a mild laxative effect, so people with digestive disorders are recommended to take Keltican with food.

Keltican: instructions

The drug is registered in Ukraine and is produced in opaque gelatin capsules with a blue cap and a gray bottom, inside of which there are white powder granules.

The main active ingredients are:

cytidine (in the form of disodium salt monophosphate) - 5 mg;
uridine (in the form of trisodium triphosphate, disodium diphosphate and uridine monophosphate) - 3 mg, which in terms of pure uridine is 1.33 mg.

The powder also contains additional excipients: magnesium stearate, colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide, sodium citrate and mannitol.

Keltikan tablets: mechanism of action

The medicinal properties of Keltican are due to the content of phosphate groups in its composition (cytidine monophosphate and uridine compounds), which are involved in the formation of phosphatidic acids and cerebrosides. These substances are a component of glycerophospholipids and sphingomyelin, components of the myelin sheath surrounding nerve fibers. Taking Keltican accelerates the myelination of neuron axons by improving their trophism and metabolism, thus increasing the speed of recovery processes in case of damage to neuronal structures.

Keltikan: indications

The drug is prescribed for the treatment and prevention of peripheral neuropathies caused by:

pathology of the musculoskeletal system (sciatica, sciatica, osteochondrosis);
metabolic diseases (polyneuropathy of diabetic or alcoholic origin);
infectious agents (herpes zoster and postherpetic intercostal neuralgia caused by it);
neuritis and inflammatory neuropathies (pathology of the trigeminal and facial nerves, lumbodynia).

For osteochondrosis, degenerative-dystrophic diseases of the joints and spine, Keltican is included in the therapeutic regimen as an adjuvant that improves the trophism of nerve fibers. The drug does not anesthetize and is recommended as a means to improve well-being.

Keltican complex is not a drug; you should consult a doctor before taking it. The dietary supplement does not include lactose and gluten, and there are no preservatives or substances of animal origin. The drug can be taken by patients with diabetes. The cellulose used to make the capsules does not contain ingredients of animal origin, so the product can be used by people who adhere to a vegan or vegetarian diet.

Pharmacological properties

Keltican complex promotes the regeneration of damaged nerve fibers in pathologies of the peripheral nerves and spine. The drug is taken orally with meals. Adults are recommended to use 1 capsule per day, course – 20 days. If necessary, it is possible to conduct a repeat course. If you have problems swallowing the capsule, you can open it and swallow the extracted mini-granules in parts.
