Pharmacological properties of the drug Makrovit

Macrovit is a multivitamin preparation that contains 10 essential vitamins involved in the regulation of numerous biochemical processes in the body. B vitamins (B1, B2, B6), pantothenic acid and nicotinamide are involved in the metabolism of proteins, fats and carbohydrates and are necessary for the normal functioning of the nervous system. Vitamin A (retinol) stimulates epithelial repair and regenerative processes, and is involved in the synthesis of visual pigment. Actively absorbed in the intestine, absorption is associated with the presence of lipids and is enhanced by the action of bile. Deposited and metabolized in the liver, excreted in the form of metabolites in bile and urine. Vitamin D3 (colecalciferol) regulates calcium metabolism and ensures proper mineralization of bones and teeth. Absorbed in the stomach and intestines; a small amount of the vitamin manifests itself primarily in the form of a lipoprotein complex (chylomicron fraction). Activated in the liver and adipose tissue. Excreted in bile. Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) accelerates the absorption of iron in the digestive tract and is involved in redox processes. Absorbed by active transport and passive diffusion. Distributed in all tissues of the body, excreted in the urine unchanged and in the form of a metabolite (ascorbic acid-2-sulfate). Vitamin E (α-tocopherol) is a physiological antioxidant that protects cell membranes from free radical damage and promotes their normal functioning. After absorption in the digestive tract, it is quickly distributed in all tissues of the body. It is slowly excreted in bile and in the form of metabolites in urine. Nicotinamide (vitamin PP) is absorbed almost completely by active transport and passive diffusion. Distributed in all tissues of the body, up to 70% is excreted unchanged in the urine. Calcium pantothenate is quickly and almost completely absorbed from the digestive tract. Up to 70% of pantothenic acid is excreted unchanged in the urine. Riboflavin (vitamin B2) is rapidly absorbed from the upper gastrointestinal tract through a specific transport mechanism that involves phosphorylation to flavin mononucleotide or flavin phosphate. It is not deposited in the body in significant quantities and is excreted unchanged and as a metabolite in the urine. Thiamine (vitamin B1) is absorbed in the digestive tract by passive diffusion. It is not deposited in the body in significant quantities. Converted to the active pyrophosphate form by enzymes in brain and liver tissue. Excreted in urine. Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) is absorbed in the small intestine by passive diffusion. Different forms of the vitamin (pyridoxine, pyridoxal and pyridoxamine) easily transform into one another in the body. It is excreted mainly in the urine. Cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12), in the presence of gastric juice and pancreatic proteases, binds to internal factor - a glycoprotein secreted by stomach cells, as well as blood plasma proteins and is excreted in bile.

pharmachologic effect

Multivitamins. The medicine contains a set of vitamins necessary for the full course of numerous biochemical reactions in the human body.

B vitamins (pyridoxine (B6), thiamine (B1), nicotinamide (P), pantothenic acid (B5), riboflavin (B2)) take an active part in the synthesis of neurotransmitters , in erythrocyte metabolism, carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism .

Colecalciferol (vitamin D) is necessary for the complete absorption of calcium.

Retinol (vitamin A) is involved in the biological synthesis of a specific light-sensitive pigment in the retina.

Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) is involved in oxidation-reduction processes and is necessary for the absorption of iron.

Tocopherol (vitamin E) is a natural, physiological antioxidant that helps maintain the functional activity of cell membranes, acting as their protector.

B vitamins (B1, B2, B6, pantothenic acid and nicotinamide) are involved in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins, as well as in the functioning of the nervous system. Vitamin A is necessary for the development of epithelial cells and the biosynthesis of light-sensitive pigment in the retina. Vitamin D plays an important role in maintaining calcium balance and promoting proper mineralization of bones and teeth. Vitamin C increases the absorption of iron and is involved in many redox processes in the body. Vitamin E is a natural antioxidant that protects cell membranes from damage and maintains their functionality.

Indications for use

Macrovit® is used to replenish vitamin deficiencies when the need for them cannot be satisfied by an appropriate diet. Taking the drug does not replace a balanced and varied diet.

Directions for use and doses

Interaction with other drugs

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or may take any other medicines. It is not recommended to take Macrovit® together with oral retinoids (their combination can be toxic), nitrites and cholestyramine. Before taking Macrovit®, consult your doctor if you are taking thiazide diuretics, levodopa, glucocorticosteroids, beta blockers, cardiac glycosides. You may need to adjust the dose of your medications. Co-administration of the drug Makrovit® with drugs such as cimetidine, PAS, potassium preparations, salicylates, corticosteroids, tricyclic antidepressants, imipramine, amitriptyline, laxatives, phenytoin, barbiturates may affect the absorption, metabolism and activity of some vitamins included in Makrovit ®. The absorption of vitamins can be affected by the simultaneous consumption of fruit and vegetable juices and alkaline drinks. Macrovit® interacts with some drugs (for example, tetracycline and quinolone antibiotics), which may reduce the effect of these drugs. To avoid this interaction, take Macrovit® and antibacterial drugs 2-3 hours apart. Avoid taking the drug if you are taking sulfonamides to avoid crystalluria.
